State Police are investigating a Theft by Deception internet scam that beat a Harrison Township woman out of $479.00.
Trooper Gerg of the Coudersport barracks, reports that the 35 year old woman was looking for a puppy online and observed an ad on a website for a free Siberian Husky puppy. She made an agreement with the alleged owner and eventually was scammed out of $479.00.
The investigatiion is ongoing.
Pennsylvania State Police wants the public to be aware of thei internet pet scam and urges that the public not wire transfer money to an overseas location involving a pet purchase.

wow free means you pay nothing.. lol free isn't 479.00.. :) So what's wrong with this scam?
Petfinder would have been a much better choice to look on-line. There's more than enough puppies and Huskies that need homes. With very few exceptions, anyone else is just breeding to make money.
My suggestion to anyone looking for a pet: Visit your local SPCA. So many abandoned animals there, just waiting for a loving family and forever home.
