A Portville woman was moderately injured in a crash on Rt. 44 in Hebron Township on Wednesday at 7:45 AM.
Joyce E. Morris of Portville, NY, was transported to Charles Cole Hospital by Coudersport Ambulance for treatment of moderate injuries.
Trooper Jonathan Wooster said the crash occurred as Morris drove a 2005 Ford Escape southbound on Rt. 44. Morris failed to maintain control of the vehicle, causing it to cross over into the northbound lane and proceed through a ditch for about 40 feet, and then oversteered the vehicle across both lanes and left the roadway on the western side, down a slight embankment where it came to rest
The vehicle sustained disabling damage on the right side and was towed from the scene by Kightlinger's. Coudersport Fire Department assisted with traffic control.
