Register for the Crop Production and Pesticide Update Meeting being held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Veterans Memorial, Route 155 in Port Allegany by contacting Penn State Extension at 814-274-8540.

The McKean County Conservation District and the Penn State Cooperative Extension are co-sponsoring this afternoon class which may be worth 3 category and 2 core pesticide recertification credits pending Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture approval.

Topics of discussion will include the following: Alternative Forage Crops, Penn State Cover Crop Interseeder and Applicator, Farm Bill Update, Farm Service Agency Update, Manure Management & Ag. Erosion and Sedimentation Control, Water Quality and Effects on Pesticide Mixing, Weed Identification & Control.

There is a $5.00 fee, which includes a refreshments and materials.

Financial and other support for this project is provided by the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act, administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
