A Rew man was transported to Olean General Hospital for treatment of injuries of unknown severity Monday morning after a 7:10 am crash on Rt. 46 south of Columbia Hill Road in Keating Township.
Mervin D. Miller, Jr. 53, of Rew, PA, was driving a 2002 Cheverolet Tracker southbound on Rt. 46, when his vehicle traveled off the right shoulder. Miller made an abrupt to the left and began fishtailing, causing the vehicletot lose control. The vehicle traveled off the right shoulder a second time and impacted a snowbank/guiderail with it's left front.
The vehicle continued southbound and impacted a snow bank/guiderail end radius with with the left side. The vehicle then ricocheted off the guiderail and crossed Rt. 46 and impacted the guide rail a third time with it's left front, coming to rest partially blocking the northbound lane of Rt. 46 according to Trooper Andrew Brothers, who investigated.
Miller was cited for Driving On Roadways Laned for Traffic. Smethport and Rew Fire Depts. assisted at the scene along with Priority Care Ambulance.
