Richard W. "Pinky" Torrey, 82, of 673 Derrick Road, Bradford, PA, formerly of Limestone, NY

Richard W. "Pinky" Torrey, 82, of 673 Derrick Road, Bradford, PA, formerly of Limestone, NY, passed away, Friday, January 11th, with his loving family at his side.

Born June 20, 1930, in Olean, he was the son of the late Carroll and Audrey (Petty) Torrey.

Richard married his devoted wife, Lettie M. (Bedell) Torrey, on August 16, 1997, at the First Presbyterian Church in Bradford.

Mr. Torrey was a 1947 graduate of Allegany High School. He worked at Dresser Manufacturing in Bradford for several years before founding R. W. Torrey Contracting which he ran for over 40 years, retiring in 1990.

He was a member of the Bradford Township Lions Club serving as president in 1981-82. He received the Lions International Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He was a member of the Custer City Men's Club and was active with the Penn Brad Oil Museum, enjoying the Fire Side Pumpers' breakfasts.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Thomas C. (Martha) Torrey, of Limestone, three daughters, Susan Torrey, Shelley Campbell and Brenda Torrey, two stepdaughters, Jennifer (John) Robinson, of Indiana, and Nina Belleville, of Allegany, NY, and a sister, Nancy Hart, of California. He is also survived by eight grandchildren whom he loved deeply: Jessica, Jaclyn, Kimberly, Tessa, Sarah, Katie, Rachel and Johnny, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Torrey was predeceased by his parents, one son, James, and a sister, Gloria Torrey.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, January 18, 2013, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main Street, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 19th, with Rev. W. LeRoy Beckes, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 54 East Corydon Street, Bradford, PA 16701, the Bradford Township Lions Club, P. O. Box 229, Bradford, the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice. The Bradford Township Lions Club will have a prayer service at 7:30 Friday in the funeral home.
