Trooper shoots, kills man who slashed him with scissors

State police shot and killed a man who slashed a trooper‘s head with scissors during a confrontation in an East Huntingdon grocery store around 9:15 a.m. Friday, police said.
The trooper had arrived to investigate a disturbance at the Save a Lot store in Crossroads Plaza outside Mt. Pleasant when the man slashed him near the doorway and the trooper shot him, according to Trooper Stephen Limani of the Greensburg barracks.
“After the suspect was shot, he got up and made it to the parking before he collapsed a few steps outside the store,” Limani said. The man died in the parking lot.

Better start a petition to ban scissors.
dont bring scissors to a gun fight....he deserved to be shot...hope the trooper is ok..be safe my brother and heal up...
First we need to register the scissors, then we have to decide if we need to ban only a certain model.

It's odd that people don't have a problem with the trooper acting as judge, jury and excecutioner. Didn't he have a taser?

Who needs a taser when you have a gun? Second, who needs a judge, jury, or executioner when you have the trusted State Police? Lastly, they probably will ban scissors. (At least the ones that don't look like they belong in a 2nd grade class for cutting construction paper.)
Plastic sporks will be the only thing left to protect yourself with. Either from criminals or the government. (At least until we figure out how to use those effectively.)

A suspect stabbing a trooper or officer with scissors or a knife is deadly force. With that being said deadly force by the trooper is authorized... Good Job and God Bless. Thank you
@ 4:03 - you are spot on... when a criminal comes at an officer or trooper with a weapon, they are well aware that that officer has a gun. They are taught lethal force for a reason. Hope the trooper is back protecting our communities soon!
The article from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says the officer did intially use his taser. The suspect was still able to fight the officer and then stab him in the head with the scissors. Don't want to get shot? Don't assault a police officer. This judge, jury, executioner crap is just that, Crap! It irritates me when people want to blame the police officer in this case. Get a grip. Show some respect and things like this wouldn't happen.
Of course you idiots call the guy a hero because he murdered someone...why am I not surprised?
If I would have done the same, Id already be in prison looking forward to a life sentence. Just saying
If someone attacked me with a pair of scissors i would shoot to kill to.I give this officer a big pat on the back I'm sure this officer is not proud of what he did but also knows it was what needed to be done.God bless and hope u get healthy and back protecting the public soon
As I have told my son for years...for every action there is a reaction and you better be prepared for it. Sorry but this is what it is going to come down to in this day and age with the horrible crimes that are being committed a cop has no choice but to be pro active and protect the innocent as well as themselves.
@3:44 Wow......As a law enforcement officer the last thing I'm using is a Taser! If the dude attacked me with scissors, I'm NOT pulling my taser or my pepper spray...he is obviously tyring to hurt/kill me and I'm going home to my wife and daughter once my shift is over...period!
