Two Injured In Friday Crash South Of Port Allegany

Eldred/Emporium Residents Injured In Crash

The sister of an Eldred woman who died in a fiery crash October 24, 2012 in Clover Township, Jefferson County, was flown by Mercyflight to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo after the 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier in which she was a passenger crashed on Rt. 155 south of Port Allegany Friday at 6:12 PM.

Kristen M. Stahli, 22, an Eldred native, listed on the police report as being from Johnsonburg, was a passenger in a vehicle driven by John P. Richards, 31, of Emporium, PA.She was lifeflighted to ECMC.

Richards was taken by ambulance to Charles Cole Hospital in Coudersport for treatment of his injuries.

Trooper Leslie Barr, who investigated, was unable to say how badly either victim was injured. Neither victim was wearing a seat belt. People at the scene who saw the wrecked car said they were surprised anyone survived the crash.

Kristen Stahli was also listed as the victim of an assault at 3:45 AM on Friday morning in another police report from State Police in Emporium. That report by Trooper Michael W. Smith at Emporium, said that Stahli was assaulted byJames Clinger, 20, of Emporium, PA at 226 W. 4th Street in Emporium Boro. Clinger is charged with Simple Assault. Stahli suffered minor injuries in that incident.

Trooper Barr said the crash occurred as the red Chevy Cavalier was traveling north on Rt. 155 when Richards lost control of the vehicle. It crossed the southbound lane and continued north along the west roadside where it struck an embankment and overturned onto it's roof, coming to rest along the west roadside.

Richards will be cited for Driving Vehicle At Safe Speed. Travelers reported the roadway was very slippery at the time of the crash. The area had received about an inch of snow Friday afternoon.

Stahli's sister, Kelsey Stahli, died in a violent fiery crash on October 24, 2012 in Jefferson County, along with two other occupants of that car.

Port Allegany and Roulette Fire Departments and Port Allegany and Roulette EMS, along with Medic 16 and Medic 6 extricated the victims from the vehicle and transported to the hospital and to a landing zone next to the VFW, a short distance from the crash scene at the intersection with Roosevelt Avenue in Liberty Township. PennDOT also assisted at the scene.

This joker has been in the news a lot!!! First, he was beat up by an 82 year old man, now he's switched to women. The last 2 times I've seen his name in the paper, he was hitting on women and arrested. How many times does it have to happen before he goes to state and gets a big boyfriend? What a little punk!

The son-of-a-B damn near hit me head on 10 miles before he wrecked as we were traveling to Emporium. He was driving like a bat out of hell with only one headlight and was in our lane. Barely able to avoid him without wrecking myself. Just glad he didn't hit anyone else.

Prayers for the Stahli family. I can't imagine the struggles and pain they are experiencing after going through this.

What is so confusing? This poor woman got beat up & was in a horrific car accident the next day & flown to E.C.M.C. The guy, (driver), apparently is a jerk as well as the guy who beat her up. Got it? Oh, and last her her sister was killed in another car accident in Jefferson county. She need to choose different ppl to hang with, I'm thinking. Hope she gets better soon.

The driver wasn't the guy who beat her up.
