2013 Potter County Fair Queen Search

The search for 2013 Potter County Fair Queen Contestants is now underway. 

Each Potter County Fair Queen contestant must be a female who is a U.S. citizen, a resident of Pennsylvania and live in Potter County or that part of McKean County included in the Oswayo Valley School district. She must be at least 16, but no older than 20 years of age as of June 1 of the year entering the local contest and has not been a former local Fair Queen winner, or a former State Fair Queen contestant. She must not hold any other title for any other commodity group or pageant during her reign and also have her parent(s)’ or guardian(s)’ consent to enter the competition. 

The contestant needs to be single, have never been married, have not been pregnant or become pregnant during her reign nor given birth to a child. She must act in accordance with the Fair Queen “Behavior Policy” included in the Fair Queen Handbook and meet all time commitments, Queen Obligations and Dress Code as set forth by the Fair Queen Program. Must attend the Potter County Fair daily! 

She must represent Potter County Fair at the State Competition to be held in Hershey, PA in January 2014. Expenses will be paid by the Potter County Fair Association for the contestant and her parents. A written essay is required to be submitted on “What My Fair Means to My Community” (300 words or less) and she must present a 3 to 5 minute speech on “Why You Should Come to My Fair”. Speeches will be given one evening during fair week.

at least every girl who meets the cirteria can participate in Potter County....in McKean it's a high school popularity contest....& somee of those girls wouldn't know a farm if they fell into the drop...
