Donation from Tri-County Rural Electric and a matching donation from CO Bank.

Both Tioga and Potter County libraries received grants during the Potter-Tioga Library System monthly meeting. This was all made possible by a donation from Tri-County Rural Electric and a matching donation from CO Bank.

The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) mission is to continuously improve the present and future quality of life in the counties served by the Foundation. They’re a vehicle for people looking to “give back” and make an impact through grants and giving. That’s why when Tri-County Rural Electric was looking for a way to “give back” they decided to partner with CFTT. This collaborative effort helped a total of thirteen libraries who’ve been struggling with funding cuts. Libraries provide a valuable service to our community. It’s a resource for youth reading programs, research, enjoyable reading, and many other activities and programs they offer.

The eleven libraries that received grants at the Potter- Tioga Library System meeting included: Coudersport Public Library, Galeton Public Library, Genesee Public Library, Oswayo Valley Memorial Library, Ulysses Library, Blossburg Memorial Library, Elkland Area Community Library, Knoxville Public Library, Green Free Library, Mansfield Free Public Library, and Westfield Public Library. Two other libraries in Western Bradford County will also be receiving grants in the near future.

Anyone interested in learning more about CFTT can contact the organization by any of these methods: telephone - 570-888-4759; fax - 570-888-2179; email -; or website -

Awesome! I am so glad for support for our libraries. I love to read, and for those who don't care to read, our libraries offer movies and computers. Way to go Lowel!
