Darla K. Black, 61, of Coudersport, PA

Darla K. Black, 61, of Coudersport, PA died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Born on October 1, 1951 in Hornell, NY she was the daughter of Raymond and Evelyn Horton Hallett. On March 22, 1969 in Coudersport, she married Edward L. Black who survives.

Mrs. Black was a 1971 graduate of Coudersport High School. She had worked at TC Specialties in Coudersport, at the Ethan Allen plant in Eldred, PA, and had worked for 27 years with Morgan AM & T in Coudersport where she served as secretary for the union. She was an election officer for Homer Township and enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a loving, caring wife, mother and friend to all, who will be dearly missed.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Deborah L. (Dean) Hint of Cuba, NY, Edward C. “Butch” and Shari Black of Galeton, PA, and Barbara A. (Rob) Black of Monks Corner, SC, two grandchildren, one sister, Shirley (Charles) Marlatt of Canisteo, NY and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Donny Hint.

Viewing and service times are incomplete and will be announced by the Fickinger Funeral Home of Coudersport.

I had the honor of working with Darla for many years. She will be sadly missed. Prayers go out to the entire Black family.
