My experience with the dirt roads that are dumped it make them go to powder that is almost impossible to see through.plus it makes ruts form...NOT to mention the RUST it causes on vehicles....Are they also spreading on the hardtop roads or edges of them??? I remember when the brine water was dumped on top of the ground and the deer would come and lick the ground for the salt. Never found any dead deer laying around. Anonymous said...: This is not brine from marcellus shale. This is salt brine from shallow gas wells. It has been analyzed by Dep and the salt is said to be safe by DEP. It is spread under strict guidlines and is only used for dust control. It has been done for years. It is cost effective to prevent road dust and loss of road material due to traffic. The Townships do not get paid to spread this material,nor does it have to pay for it. Ask the residents who live on dirt roads if they want the dust suppressed when people drive as fast as they do these days.
