This is so ridiculous! Years ago it was not allowed, now that the gas/oil companies are talking, it suddenly becomes legal..Wake up people your lives are about to change forever!
The rest of the world will be amused to watch us slowly kill ourselves!!
What i would like to know is what happens to the radioactivity once this stuff has been recycled in ulysess?? Does it go with the brine or stay with the sludge??
The Townships & State are not happy yet that we are poisoning our water from fracking...so they are going to try to poison it from above ground too!!! What a joke these Gvv't Agencies are! & especially the "people" who manage them male & female.
Is the Township paying for this or getting paid??? My experience with the dirt roads that are dumped it make them go to powder that is almost impossible to see through.plus it makes ruts form...NOT to mention the RUST it causes on vehicles....Are they also spreading on the hardtop roads or edges of them??? Drink up people it's ONLY Salt water!!!Am I right that brines comes out of wells already producing and fracking waste is from drilling?
I AM ASSUMING THIS SUDDEN OK TO USE BRINE HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE MONEY PUT UP TO PLUG OLD WELLS..YOU SEE BEFORE THEY CAN PLUG THEM THEY HAVE TO GET THE OLD BRINE AND WASTE FROM THEM..READ THE ARTICLE POSTED ABOUT PLUGGING OLD WELLS IN OUR AREA AND THEN BINGO THIS ARTICLE COMES OUT..WE ARE SUCH FOOLISH PEOPLE!
They have done this in the past. What is the difference if they put this on the roads or dump it on top of the ground. I remember when the brine water was dumped on top of the ground and the deer would come and lick the ground for the salt. Never found any dead deer laying around. Some of you people have no idea what your talking about and make really dumb comments.
Such as yourself?
This is not brine from marcellus shale. This is salt brine from shallow gas wells. It has been analyzed by Dep and the salt is said to be safe by DEP. It is spread under strict guidlines and is only used for dust control. It has been done for years. It is cost effective to prevent road dust and loss of road material due to traffic. The Townships do not get paid to spread this material, nor does it have to pay for it. Ask the residents who live on dirt roads if they want the dust suppressed when people drive as fast as they do these days. This Township has been getting thewe permits for 15 years and it has helped the residents who have respritory problems also.
Hey Oswayo borough.....we could use this too!!!
I would like to see the MSDS sheet for this brine.
The Brine MSDS and analyses is done by an independent laboratory in Buffalo and is available with the issued permit and submitted to the DEP with the application for the permit.
It just so happens to look exactly like a pile of 100 dollar bills...
3:55:00 PM Re: "Never found any dead deer laying around." Brine spread on the roads is probably the reason why the area has a high number of people with thyroid cancer.
Some people really don't know what their talking about!
Brine has been used on dirt roads for years to keep the dust down. This is not the same Brine from drilling, so instead of just jumping to a conclusion about all Brine being the same how about you get your facts straight.
