H. Ann McCloskey, 89, of 1007 West Washington Street, Bradford, PA

H. Ann McCloskey, 89, of 1007 West Washington Street, Bradford, passed away, Monday February 25, 2013, at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born March 30, 1923, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Matie (Robbins) Starkweather.

On October 24, 1942, in Allegany, NY, she married her high school sweetheart, Frederick Cloud, Jr. who passed away December 22, 1950. On May 24,1952 in Derrick City she married William C. McDevitt, who passed away August 16, 1990, then on August 29, 1992, in Arcade, NY, she married William Vogan McCloskey who survives.

Mrs. McCloskey attended Foster Township Schools and graduated from Bradford High School in 1941. She had worked as a bookkeeper and secretary at Kendall Refining Company, Oliver-Costello Rambler, and at Cantwell-Johnson, Inc. and she was the company's President.

She enjoyed needlework, knitting, sewing, quilting, many different types of crafts, traveling and reading.

She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, the former Bradford Chapter 61, Order of the Eastern Star, Quilters at First United Methodist, the Naturalist Club, and a partner in the Telephone Pioneers of America.

In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Janet (Michael) Clark, and a son, Frederick (Vera) Cloud, III, all of Bradford, two step daughters, Carol Ann (Gerald) Foster of Batavia, NY, Cynthia Sue McCloskey and her husband Gordimir Magdic of Staton Island, NY, two granddaughters, four great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren 2 step great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and three brothers, Robert Starkweather and 2 infants.

Friends will be recieved from noon to 1:00pm on Saturday, March 2, 2013, in the First United Methodist Church, at 1:00pm funeral and committal services will be held with Rev. Tom Verner, pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
