She was born Sept. 28, 1920, in Angelica, the daughter of late Fay and Louise (Neetz) Palmer. On Feb. 11, 1941, in Angelica, she married Paul W. Williams, who predeceased her July 7, 2002.
Jessie was a graduate of Angelica High School. She was co-owner and operator of Williams Store in Allentown from 1941 to 1945 and Williams Store in Stannards from 1945 until her retirement in the 1980’s.
She enjoyed painting, ceramics, sewing, crocheting, embroidery, cooking, reading, cake decorating, especially wedding cakes, bird watching, her favorite being the hummingbird and visits from family and friends.
She was an active member of the Stannards United Methodist Church, where she served as the Choir Director and was a member of several fund-raising committees. She was also a past officer of the WSCS/UMW and a member of the Willing Fire Department Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son, William (Cheryl) Williams and her daughter, Kathleen (Mark) Flint, both of Wellsville; two grandsons, William (Wendy) Williams, Jr. of Trumansburg, and Stephen (Kristi) Williams of Scio; a granddaughter, Lori (Trever) Levitt of Wellsville; a stepgrandson, Charles (Glorianne) Flint of Bradenton, Fla.; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Palmer Graham of Hornell; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Palmer Peaslee of Allentown; as well as several generations of nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited her funeral on Saturday (Feb. 23, 2013) at 2 p.m. in the Stannards United Methodist Church with Rev. Kimberly Snyder presiding. There will be no prior visitation and burial will be in Stannards Cemetery.
