Mary M. DeBock
beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother
Mary M. DeBock, 92, of Main St., Eldred, PA, passed away Monday (February 25th, 2013) at the Bradford Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born April 24th, 1920 in Heerlen, Netherlands she was a daughter of Joseph and Maria Beenen Demarteau. On June 26th, 1941 in Heerlen she married Jack J. DeBock who passed away on January 4th, 1983.
Mary attended schools in the Netherlands and moved to Eldred in 1959.
She was employed as a sales clerk at Weston’s Shoppers City for 25 years before her retirement.
Mrs. DeBock was a member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Eldred and the St. Raphael’s Altar Rosary society. She was a past member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the Eldred Senior Center and was a major contributor to various charities.
Mary loved knitting, crocheting and reading; she enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Frank DeBock of Eldred and Anthony (Julie) DeBock of Bradford; four daughters, Gertrude (Julian) Baldoni of Eldred, Mary Lou Rahr of Huntington, Indiana, Anne (Larry) DiCenzo of Charleston, South Carolina and Jacqueline (Douglas) Mitchell of Pittsford, NY; 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; two sisters, Annie Winteraeken and Wies Demarteau, both of Heerlen. She is also survived by her uncle, the honorable Bishop Wilhelmus Demarteau.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Capt. Douglas DiCenzo in 2006 and Andrew James DeBock in 1979; as well as five brothers, John, Peter, Leo, Tony and Frans Demarteau.
Friends may call Wednesday (February 27th, 2013) at the Frame Funeral Home in Eldred from 4 to 8 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday at the St. Raphael’s Church in Eldred at 11 am with the Rev. Thomas E. Brown as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Raphael’s Cemetery, Eldred.
The Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
