Midred L. Sylawa, 89, of Austin, PA

Midred L. Sylawa, 89, of Austin, PA, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, PA.

Born on February 22, 1924 in Marion Heights, PA, she was the daughter of Anthony and Kathryn Ignatovich. On June 3, 1973 in Norristown, PA, she married Francis J. Sylawa who survives.

Mrs. Sylawa was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church of Austin, PA. She had worked for many years as a waitress before retiring to Potter County.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters, Phyllis Delia of New Jersey, Jane Byers of Philadelphia, PA, Christine DeMarco of Arizona and step-daughter Sharon Parsons of Delaware. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Jennifer, brother, Alfred and granddaughter, Jennifer Delia.

Friends are invited to Mildreds’s Life Celebration beginning on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 with visitation from 1-3pm at the Fickinger Funeral Home of Coudersport. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Wednesday at the St. Augustine Catholic Church of Austin, PA with Reverend Joseph Dougherty, officiating.
