A one vehicle crash on Route 872 that occurred last Tuesday at 4:10 PM caused a minor injury to the passenger.
Karina H. Valenti, 24, of Austin, PA, suffered a minor injury in the crash. She was not wearing a seat belt.
Kevin J. Chelton, 25, of Corry, PA, the driver, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
Trooper Derek Weaver who investigated said the crash occurred as the 2006 Chevrolet Impala was traveling northbound on Route 872 in Homer Township. The car slid off the east side of the roadway and exited the roadway over the east embankment and struck a tree. The crash occurred about 130 yards north of Heth Road.
Valenti was cited for a seat belt violation in District Court 55-3-01. Coudersport Volunteer Fire Dept. and Coudersport EMS assisted at the scene.

Ahhhh was it necessary to cite her for not wearing a seat belt? I didn't even know you could be cited as an unrestrained passenger. I was suprised they didn't sight the driver for too fast for conditions or driving at a safe speed.
Every day I read about someone that couldn't keep their car on the road. There are too many people that simply don't pay attention or drive too fast. I hope everyone here was ok,, but I would imagine that most times, a ticket is justified.
Poster 5:55. Since you have never been in an accident and must be such an amazing driver, maybe you can teach these horrible drives how it's done. Or wait, maybe you can not jump to conclusions as you have no idea why this happend. We live in the country, with wild animials, and windey roads, and it is winter it happens.
