PennDOT posting another section of Route 973 in Lycoming County

PennDOT is advising motorists that a four-mile section of Route 973 in Lycoming Township will be posted with a 10-ton weight restriction from the intersection with Stony Gap Road, two miles west of Quiggleville in Anthony Township, east to the exit ramp off Route 15.

The posting is being made on the basis of a traffic-and-engineering study indicating that this highway may be damaged by the use of vehicles that exceed the restriction.

School buses and local-delivery trucks are exempt from the postings.

The posting will take effect as soon as the required signs are erected.

Route 973 immediately west of this section is already posted with a 10-ton limit.
