BREAKING NEWS: Police Release Identity of Woman Hospitalized in Clarion Drive-by Shooting

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) - Clarion Borough Police have released the name of a woman injured in an early Saturday morning drive-by shooting.
Police say 19 year-old Clarion University student Rakeeah Megan Sabazz Merritt was shot in her right calf with a small caliber weapon sometime around 2:10 a.m. at 1223 B Leatherwood Drive.
Police say Ms. Merritt sustained broken tibia and fibula bones in the shooting.
She was transported to Clarion Hospital Emergency Room and then flown to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh where surgery was performed to remove the bullet and repair damage to her leg.
Police list the severity of her injuries as moderate. She was in stable condition as of Sunday.
Officers recovered 6 shells from a .380 automatic weapon at the crime scene. Read More..
