Great news, The Westfield Boro council passed an agreement with Northern Tioga school district & Westfield Twp, with a 3-3 vote, Mayor Vargeson broke the tie with a yes vote.
With this agreement Westfield PD will provide primary police coverage for the Cowanesque Valley High School, Westfield Area Elementary School, and the Westfield Child Development Center.
This will mean quicker response for all Emergency calls big or small, and foot patrols in and around the schools.

yay....this means the cops will get there with their guns 8 minutes after the shooting instead of 10.....
I would like to see the day when State Police (Mansfiled) can make it to Westfield in "10 minutes". 9:42 You have no Idea what your talking about, or how much this will help the School District.
The sad thing is Three Council members voted "No". Thank You Mayor Vargeson!
That's a real Mayor!!!!!! Thank You!
Be ok if they are only for emergency protection and not full time harassment. by that I mean patroling the parking lots and issuing tickets etc.
I think armed security is a good thing in schools but it needs to be all the time. Not just being ready when something happens. I also think it should be contracted out. These cops seem yo have a very biased outlook on peoples children that are known in the town or have a reputation. If they were contracted they also couldnt be patroling the parking lots giving fines to kids for a bad tire or a cracked windshield which is exactly what the westfield cops will be doing.
