A mix of aircraft, including full-sized airplanes and ultralights as well as radio controlled (RC) airplanes and helicopters will be on display at the Canyon Pilots Association’s All You Can Eat Labor Day Fly-In Breakfast Sunday, Sept. 4, from 8 a.m. until noon, rain or shine.

Open to the public, the breakfast will be indoors at the new, 14,000-square-foot commercial corporate hangar at the Wellsboro-Johnston Airport just west of Wellsboro on Airport Road in Delmar Township.

Visitors can park their vehicles along the roadway and in the parking area near the main gate as has been done in the past. Handicapped parking will be available along Airport Road near the new hangar.

Assisting with the breakfast will be members of the Canyon Country Ultralight Club.

Ham, scrambled and fried eggs, buckwheat pancakes, coffee and orange juice are on the menu and will be served at tables set up in the terminal. Requested is a donation of $7 for adults and $3 for children 3 to 8 years old. Breakfast is free for children 2 and under.

During the event, the public will be able to see pilots land various types of aircraft at the Wellsboro Johnston Airport, weather permitting. Canyon Aero, LLC will provide airplane rides for individuals for $35.

Also at this year’s Fly-In Breakfast, members of the Canyon Country Ultralight Club will have a display, including ultralight aircraft and information. The ultralights will be flown, weather permitting.

The Mountain Modelaires, a group of individuals who fly radio controlled airplanes and helicopters, will have a static display of RC airplanes in an area next to the terminal. Members will also have a computer set up with an R/C flight simulator program for children and adults to try. "We are inviting the public to sign up for an introductory flight on a dual radio controlled trainer aircraft," said President Ed Staron. The training will be held outdoors at the Mountain Modelaires' field on Hilboldt Road in Charleston Township, just outside of Wellsboro.
