It's that time of year, where has the summer gone? Please be careful this week as children will be returning to school using busses, walking and parents will be doing the pickup and drop off at the Elementary School. Let's take a moment and pray for our teachers, administrators, parents, bus drivers and kids as they return and start another awesome year.

AT THE SCHOOL: Our Superintendent of Schools Dr. Hartzell has written a letter to parents that can be viewed on the school website at and the bus schedule is posted. Meet the teachers August 23, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. School starts August 25th and be closed Monday, September 5, 2016 to celebrant Labor Day.
At the Senior Center: Monday, August 22: Swedish Meatballs: "Kiss and make up Day", Walking Club, BINGO. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016: Grilled Chicken Sandwich, "Left Handed Day", Quilting. Wednesday, Aug 24, 2016: Baked Ham: "Back to School Party", and BINGO. Please call the day before to make your reservation 814-697-7178. Please note they are now playing BINGO on Monday and Wednesday's and Sonny Perkins is heading up daily Wii tournaments.

The Library continues the Stitch Together Group which meets at 6:00 p.m. in the Library on Wednesday evening. The Book Club will be meeting Monday, September 19, 2016 at 1:30 p.m., they will be reading "The Year of the Hare" by Arto Paasilinna, books are available at the front desk. The Festival runs from 11:00-4:00, a vendor spot is $10, Contact Marjorie or the Library for sign up forms. Library is closed Monday, September 5, 2016.

Tuesday, August 23: Tuesday Tunes In the Park, Assembly Park, Shinglehouse. Shinglehouse Community Choir: Hot dogs, chips, coffee, & drinks for $1 each. Come on out and enjoy the music and visit with some old friends 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Drive your tractor to church Sunday hosted by Bellrun Church, Church Hollow, Shinglehouse, Pa. Services start at 11:00 a.m. with a reception and antique show to follow.

Aug the 28 Sunday Norton Chambers Hinsdale Legion Garden Tractor Pullers from Southern Tier Mini Tractor Pullers with be there at the horse pulling track. There will be hots and burgers by the Legion and door prizes from Auto Plus Auto Parts out of Olean, N.Y. come down and spend the afternoon.
