Bradford Airport Awarded Grant, Causer Says

Rep. Martin Causer
HARRISBURG – Bradford Regional Airport is one of nearly two dozen airports across the state to be awarded a grant from the state Department of Transportation, Rep. Martin Causer (R-Turtlepoint) announced today.

The airport was awarded $150,000 to replace the existing hangar door and track foundation system.

“We are fortunate to have the Bradford Regional Airport serving our communities, and I am pleased to see it receive this funding,” Causer said. “Aviation is an important part of our state’s transportation system.”

Overall, $8.8 million in grants were awarded to 23 airports across the state. Included in the grants is $5.4 million distributed through the Aviation Transportation Assistance Program, which is a capital budget grant program funded with bonds. The investments also include $3.4 million in state funding from PennDOT’s Aviation Development Program, which comes from the state’s jet fuel tax and leverages $1.1 million in local matching funds. Public-use airports in the state are eligible for the Aviation Development Program.

If you think this type of wasteful spending will ever stop I've got some prime swamp land to sell you. They whine about tne country being in debt, but they do not care about putting this on your kids and grandkids tab.Their kids will be OK because dad or mom will get them a job for the gov with big salary and pension. So keep electing the crooks and just tell your family to pay the bill
PS You can bet someone is getting a nice kickback

They fly planes into and out of that airport with about 3 passengers on them, mostly business people who can afford to pay their own way. When will these so-called conservatives live by their own philosophy and stop the wasteful spending that subsidizes a losing operation. Drive to an airport in Buffalo, Elmira, Williamsport, and fly out of there instead of flying on Taxpayer Airlines out of Bradford.
