Wellsboro's Classic Car Cruise In will be Saturday, Aug. 27 from 12-3 p.m. on Crafton Street in Wellsboro, weather permitting.

The Sherwood Motel is the sponsor of the August cruise in. Each person that attends with a classic car, truck and motorcycle will be given a free metal dash plate as a memento. Featured on the dash plate is a photo of a bald eagle sitting on a branch, the Sherwood Motel’s logo and the Chamber’s website address.

Hosted by the Wellsboro Area Chamber of Commerce’s Retail Committee, the cruise in is held on a section of Crafton Street between Water and Main near Citizens and Northern Bank. The area will be blocked off so that the vehicles can park diagonally.

The cruise in is free and open to everyone. "There is no judging," said Al Garrison, Retail Committee chairman. The cruise in offers fun not only for those who participate but also for those who enjoy looking at and learning about classic cars. "It is interesting to hear the owners talk about the history of their vehicles - where they found them - sometimes in a barn or chicken coop, the restoration process, what company made them and what is different about their vehicles," he added.

For more information about the Aug. 27 cruise in, call the chamber office at 570-724-1926.
