Construction to Begin on McKean County Bridge Project

Sullivan Road Bridge to be replaced as part of Public-Private Partnership

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project continues in McKean County in August with the reconstruction of a bridge in Bradford Township. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from McKean County’s list of structurally deficient bridges.

The bridge (JV-73) spans Bennett Brook on Route 4011 (Sullivan Road). Construction is expected to start during the week of August 22 and be complete in November. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 4009 (Interstate Parkway).

In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge replacement is part of the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, a Public-Private Partnership (P3) between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP) under which PWKP will finance, design, replace and maintain the bridges for 25 years. The P3 approach will allow PennDOT to replace the bridges more quickly while achieving significant savings and minimizing impact on motorists.
