During the program, Schlosser and Carras will play guitar and invite children to sing songs and move to the music. They will have a selection of percussion instruments for the children to play, such as maracas, jingle bells, sand blocks and a mix of different small drums and will bring materials so the youngsters can make an instrument to take home.
Both board-certified music therapists, Schlosser and Carras offer group music classes for youngsters birth to five years old and their families through Arts for All, their Mansfield business. The classes provide developmentally-focused experiences for children such as singing, instrument exploration and movement to music, as a way to help each child develop overall skills. In addition they offer private lessons on guitar, ukulele, piano, and voice and provide contract-based music therapy services to area schools and human service agencies.
