Debra J. Baxter, 63, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, of 36 Minard Run Road, Bradford, PA passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Bradford Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Born November 1, 1952 in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Eloise (Nichols) Shrubb.

On January 10, 1970, in the First Wesleyan Church in Bradford, she married Richard D. Baxter who survives.

She attended Kane and Bradford Schools and graduated from Olean Business Institute with a general business degree.

After she raised her family, she was employed by the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford as secretary in the Student Accounting Department, and retired after 10 years to help raise her grandchildren.

Debbie enjoyed gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren who affectionately called her "Amom".

In addition to her husband Richard of 46 years, she is survived by two daughters, Iva (Timothy) Housler, of Duke Center and Candy (John Rankin) Smith, of Bradford; a son, Benjamin (Michelle) Baxter, of Bradford; seven grandchildren; Kaitlynne Smith, Cody Baxter, Garret Smith, Janelle Housler, Makenzie Smith, Jacob Baxter, and Tristin Baxter, one sister, Roberta (Craig) Smith, of Kane; four brothers, Bruce (Janie) Schrubb, of Pittsburgh, TX; Dr. Terry (Jayshree) Schrubb, of Hollis, NH; Donald (Terri Anne) Schrubb, of Amhurst, NH; Dr. Richard (Julie) Schrubb, of Quitman, LA. and several nieces and nephews.

Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 10-11 AM in Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. South Ave., where a memorial service will be held at 11 AM with Rev. Craig Smith, pastor of the Mt. Jewett United Methodist Church, officiating.

Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
