A Rabies Clinic will be held Saturday, August 26th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Ulysses Tri-Town Firehall. All dogs, cats, and ferrets that are at least 12 weeks old can be vaccinated against the rabies virus. The first time a dog or cat receives a vaccine, it is good for one year. Each time after that, the vaccination is good for three years. Ferrets must be vaccinated annually. All animals attending the clinic must be on a leash or in a container. Cost is $5.00 per animal. The clinic is sponsored by Dr. Lindsay Schwartzmeyer of the Potter County Veterinary Clinic, LLC.

Eleanor Ritchie Lauffenburger

Eleanor Ritchie Lauffenburger, 96, passed away, Thursday, August 11, 2016 in Houston, TX. She was born in Warren, PA., 
 on June 28, 1920 to John and Matilda Dahler, Sr. 

Eleanor was a long time hairdresser and greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and volunteered countless hours at local schools and the Soldier and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan, N.Y.

She was a member of Balona Methodist Church in Geneva, N.Y., and participated in a book club.

Eleanor is lovingly survived by her two children – Bill Ritchie and his wife, Mary Jane of Warren, PA., and Linda Rae Minks and her husband, Ronald of Houston, TX., stepdaughter - Annette Stanton and husband, Brad of Russell, PA., grandchildren – Pamela (Scott) Sory, Rob (Monica) Ritchie, Lisa Ritchie, numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1st husband, Francis Ritchie, 2nd husband, Robert Lauffenburger, 2 Brothers – Henry Baldensperger and John Dahler, Jr., 1 Sister – Elaine Kazen, 1 Granddaughter – Shannon Strickhausen. 

A private memorial service will held at the convenience of the family. Burial was in Warren County Memorial Park.
