Janice Sexton, 63, of Newmanstown, PA formerly of Bradford, PA passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 31, 1952 in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Fred Sexton, Sr. and Patricia (Koch) Sexton, of Bradford, who survives.
She was a 1970 graduate of Bradford Central Christian High School. She earned her bachelor's degree in Art Education from Edinboro University.
She was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in Ephrata. Janice would often say "Go to church, take dancing lessons and learn to play bridge".
Janice worked for 38 years at Franklin and Marshall College, initially in the bookstore and then 29 years as secretary in the Counseling Services Department of F & M..
In addition to her mother, she is survived by five sisters, Teresa Mickoseff of East Petersburg, Patricia (John) Brilhart of Higbee, MO, Marie Sexton of St. Petersburg, FL, Joan Organiscak (John) of Eighty Four, and Dorothy (Edward) Van Vliet of State College; three brothers, Ward (Joan Adkins) Sexton of Clearwater, FL, Frederick Sexton, Jr. and Charles Sexton, both of Bradford, two nieces, Jennifer (Thomas) Atkins and Antonia Van Vliet, two nephews: John Brilhart and Zachary Brilhart, one great niece, Evelyn Atkins, 18 aunts,and uncles, and numerous cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation and prayer service at Paul L. Gravenor Home for Funerals 100 W. Main Street, Ephrata, PA 17522 on August 21, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A prayer service will take place at 7:30PM. An additional visitation will be held on August 22 from 10 - 10:45 at Gravenor’s Home for Funerals with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00AM at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church 320 N. Church Avenue, Ephrata, PA.
Friends are also invited to call on Friday, August 26, 2016, from 11:00am to 12:30pm the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 33 South Avenue, where a prayer service will be held at 12:30pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00pm in St. Bernard Church, with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor, as celebrant. Committal services and burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
