Marjorie C. Aley

Marjorie C. Aley, 91 of Winchester TN, formerly of Galeton, PA, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the Baily Manor, Winchester, TN.

Born October 6, 1924, in Galeton, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Hilda (McCormick) Aley.

She attended and graduated from Galeton High School.

Marjorie was a homemaker and spent her life caring for her mother and her older brother, Kenneth.

She loved to travel, but never wanted to live anywhere but Galeton. She enjoyed reading her Bible and attending Bible study. She appreciated pretty things, especially pink, and liked to shop, especially for jewelry. Marjorie never met a cookie or bowl of ice cream that she didn’t like.

She loved people, and always tried to pay a compliment to others. Although she never married or had children of her own, she enjoyed being around children and young people.

Marjorie enjoyed competition. She played basketball in her younger years and other games in later years. She greatly enjoyed going for walks, and visiting with her friends and neighbors.

Surviving are a nephew, Kenneth J. Moore Sr., Winchester TN and a niece, Jane Schuman, Kingston NY.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 10:00am at the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton. The Rev. Thomas Shatto will officiate. Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery, Galeton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Galeton Ambulance Association.
