Pitt-Bradford Volleyball to Host Scrimmage

BRADFORD, Pa. - The Pitt-Bradford volleyball team will host a preseason scrimmage with Jamestown Community College Thursday night at 6 p.m. at the KOA Arena on campus.

The scrimmage is open to the public and will be the first chance for fans to see the 2016 Panthers in action. Pitt-Bradford is returning nine players from last year, including reigning AMCC Newcomer of the Year Kirsten Platz, who ranked among the conference leaders in blocks and kills. Senior Christina Rauh, who led the AMCC in service aces a year ago as a setter, is also back for the Panthers.

The Blue and Gold finished 11-16 in 2015 under first-year head coach Tom Roof, but showed improvement late in the season, winning six of its final 10 matches.

Pitt-Bradford officially opens the season Friday, Sept. 2, at the Moravian College Greyhound Premiere Invitational with a pair of matches against Ursinus and Alvernia.
