Grass is Dead will be performing on stage at the
Coolidge Theatre in Wellsboro on Labor Day Monday.
This South Florida band has been rearranging Grateful Dead songs in their own bluegrass style since forming in 1998. At Wellsboro, they will perform Grateful Dead tunes with a bluegrass twist as well as traditional and original bluegrass music.
With a few new members, the band is on tour, reintroducing itself to its fans, new and old.
Performing in Wellsboro will be Billy Gilmore on banjo, mandolin, fiddle and pedal steel; Jack Schueler on guitar; Brian Drysdale on percussion; and Nico Swarley on electric bass. All band members sing. Drew Matulich who plays mandolin will rejoin the band in Asheville, North Carolina.
Because this series is BYOB, concertgoers are encouraged to bring their own favorite beverages and snacks. Popcorn and bottled water are always available. Tickets are $12. To reserve a table for four or more or tickets, call 570-724-6220.
