Born in Olean, Sept. 27, 1936, the son of Vinton E. and Blanche (Coon) Wardner, he had attended the Bolivar School and then joined the US Air Force and served from 1954-1956.
He had worked for the Oil Field in Bolivar for many years and most recently volunteered for the Office of the Aging.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Martin Wardner.
He is survived by Joanne Rose Wardner, whom he married Aug. 20, 2003, they spent 13 happy years together. He is also survived by 2 children, Dana Vinton Wardner and Betsy Jean Ramsey; 4 stepchildren, Burdett Crandall, Annetta Butler, James Crandall, and Elaine Stephens; his sister Roxanne Hewitt; stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday (Sept. 11, 2016) at 1 p.m. at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Avenue in Angelica, with Rev. David Ford officiating. Burial will be in the Until the Day Dawn Cemetery.
