BREAKING NEWS: DOMINION LOCKOUT IS OVER!!

NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE #85

DOMINION LOCKOUT IS OVER!!!!!

It is with great pride and relief we are announcing that effective 9/17/2016 at 6:00am the lockout of all UGWU Local 69 members will end!!!!

The Union and the Company have reached an agreement that ended the lockout of our members. The agreement reached will fully back pay each member for any lost wages during the entire lockout as well as no break in our insurance. This agreement also continues until April 1, 2017.

We have agreed to return to the table and continue bargaining to reach a fair and equitable contract for both sides. Tentative dates to bargain are set for October 3,4,5.

"The membership should be proud of their efforts as they played a major role in this agreement being reached" Craig Bradford President.

Members who were scheduled to work on Saturday should report to work. Starting immediately we are asking the membership to end all picketing. Contact your Steward, Director or Officer for further details.

PROUD TO BE UNION PROUD OF OUR UNION

Why should the members get paid if they did not work.

Why should Dominion try to reduce the benefits they previously approved? If any company reduces pay or benefits they should be fined, and the ceo's fired.

Because 9:19 they didn't go on strike. The company locked them out. So yea they should get paid. If it was your paycheck you wouldn't be saying that

As a worker of all aspects of industry, corporate, union, and non union, I have seen it all and I can tell you that as of the last thirty years corporations have become extra greedy. The working man would like to earn a decent living for himself and his family while the big wheels of the corporation could care less. They bring in outside people under the auspices of improving working relationships between company and union/non union and at the very same time employ hotshot negotiators to take away or reduce the working mans compensation and benefits in the next contract. We've been told initially that it was Japan that was the biggest threat to profitability in our industry and then later it Chindia[China and India], the simple truth being that corporations were becoming more and more greedy. When the working man is asked for concessians is the CEO also or does he continue making his high dollar wages and benefits? The working man has been put on longer hours to benefit the company which means less family time and then when he/she does get time off they are usually too tired for any kind of rewarding family time. The CEO's are still taking their family's on their extended vacations whilst the workers can barely muster the energy to go to a local state park. Time for a change people, time for a change!

I CANT BELIVE THAT DOMINION CAVED.They had a chance to get rid of all the lazy employees that they have. This company could run with half the staff that they have if any of them would work, after all the ones i saw in the picket lines sat there in lawn chairs or on the tailgates of there pick up trucks. It is no wonder that america is getting so bad everybody thinks they are entitled to something instead of working for it.The days of the unions are way past all they do is protect the lazy.Maybee that could be there new motto GIVE US YOUR LAZY WE WILL MAKE SURE THEY GET A PAYCHECK FOR DOING NOTHING!!!

The company may just be buying time to get prepared to fire all the union workers. It will take a while to go thru all the job applications they have recently received from qualified people from all over the country .
I've seen this before its common practice when a company is preparing to 'clean house' and restructure.

I agree with you 9:19. Hey 10:23, maybe if they stopped being greedy they wouldn't have gotten locked out. They do NOT deserve to be paid if they were not working. I have yet to see a single union employee admit that the contract they are fighting so hard to resist is EXACTLY the same that the current non-union employees have. They also fail to mention that the company is paying all current retired employees a large sum of money in order to find their own medical care, one that fits their personal needs better and that way they won't have to drive hours to get a rx. Oh and they also fail to mention that yes the new hires will not have retirement healthcare, but again they will get more than enough money towards buying their own. oh and they also fail to mention that new hires will have a pension plan, it just is a different type, still good in every way, just a different type. Funny how they like to swing things huh?

Dear 3:03

You sir or madam,, are a douche.you don't know Jack shit..

How much is "More then enough money for retirement healthcare" ? What is the "Different type of pension"? It sounds to me like you are trying to spin/"Swing" this ? Dominion is in the energy business... They aren`t going broke, trust me and they weren`t about to hire a bunch of hacks off the street and train all of them.

I am not trying to spin or swing this but actually am living that exact plan. It is very good benefits and more than enough needed to survive very comfortably.

how hard is it to train a person to drive around all day in a pickup, go to wells and turn a valve I guess it must really be something.

Well evidently 5:17 you must be part of management. You chose not to be part of the union and are compensated well for that decision. For 6:48 must be Dominion felt it was safer to have the trained workers return than the ones they had hired to take their place, wasn't working to well

Maybe if you spent some time cold this winter you would appreciate gas workers.

Actually since part of my job is not getting paid overtime (even when I work it) the union employees end up making equal to what I do but nice try. Also your comment about hero dominion felt couldn't be farther off please read articles and press releases that carry more than the unions side of things.
