In July, staff from Penn State University planted cover crops with an interseeder in planted corn rows at both farms, and several in Potter County. The field day will show the demonstration test plots and have guest speakers on cover crops and soil health. Those who pre-register will receive a gift of a soil test kit and cover crop field guide book. Refreshments will be served.
Financial and other support for this project is provided by the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act, which is administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
