Grace Ellen Ayers Musser, 79, Former Coudersport, PA Resident

Grace Ellen Ayers Musser

Grace Ellen Ayers Musser died on September 12, 2016 at the age of 79 at Hamilton Arms, where she received excellent care the past 2 years. Grace had Alzheimer's disease for many years and her family is thankful she is now at peace.

Grace grew up in Coudersport and enjoying helping her family house countless hunters during deer season. As a teen, she also worked at the Coudersport Ice Mine.

Grace was the daughter of the late Clyde and Fern (Buchanan) Ayers and is survived by her husband, William Musser. Their 55th wedding anniversary was July 22. Bill visited Grace every day at Hamilton Arms, and was known by many residents and staff. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Bob Weidman, and 2 grandchildren, Gwendolyn and Galen Weidman. Grace was number 8 of 9 children. Only the youngest, Joe Ayers of Coudersport, is still living.

Grace graduated from Mansfield State Teachers College and taught Kindergarten for Penn Manor. She loved gardening and was known for her lovely yard, sharing perennials with neighbors, and delivering bouquets of her flowers. Grace delighted in crocheting granny squares and made numerous afghans and lap robes over the years for family, friends, Conestoga View, and pet rescues.

Grace was an active member at St. Andrew UCC, where she served in many capacities. When St. Andrew closed, she and Bill joined Faith UCC.

Grace was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Before Alzheimer's stole her mind, she lived life to the fullest, including doing good deeds for others. The family invites you to pass a kindness of any kind along in Grace's memory.

Her ashes will be spread in Coudersport. There will be no service.
