Maple Manor looking to move to Bradford Township

The Bradford Township Zoning Hearing Board is slated to hear a request for a variance that would allow Maple Manor to move into the former Heritage Suites building.

Maple Manor, currently located in Port Allegany, is a 12-bed drug and alcohol addiction inpatient treatment facility. “We’ve been there 40 years,” said Angela Eckstrom, executive director of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services Inc. 

In that 40 years, the need for services has grown and changed.

“We have 12 beds now, we’d like to make it 24,” she said. “We’ve learned in light of the opioid crisis, we find a need we’ve never had in the area — long-term, non-hospital based treatment.”

The Heritage Suites location would allow for a larger facility, and would allow ADAS to offer long-term care to help addicts recover. Read more...
