 Houghton Shuts Out Men's Soccer

HOUGHTON, N.Y. - Houghton shutout the Pitt-Bradford men’s soccer team 5-0 Tuesday evening.

The Panthers trailed 2-0 at the break and the Highlanders added three more tallies in the final 45 minutes. Houghton outshot Pitt-Bradford 32-2 and held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks. Christopher Wise and Tyler Koch were the two Panthers credited with shots on goal. Andrew Hoyt suffered the loss in net, recording 10 saves while conceding all five scores.

Pitt-Bradford drops to 0-6 the season and opens conference play Saturday at Penn State Altoona.

Men's Golf Competes at La Roche Invitational

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Pitt-Bradford men’s golf team finished 12th at the La Roche Invitational Tuesday.

The Panthers posted a team score of 368, 45 shots behind Penn State Behrend (323), who won the event. La Roche’s Red team (326), Grove City’s “A” team (327), Westminster’s White team (334) and Penn State Altoona (339) rounded out the top five.

Brett Gardner fired a 90 to lead the Panthers, one shot ahead of teammate Matt Moonan (91). Tom Morlock fired a 93, Aaron Vansickles recorded a 94 and John Bedford had a round of 98.

Pitt-Bradford will compete in the Westminster Invitational next Monday.


Women's Tennis Drops AMCC Match to Penn State Behrend

BRADFORD, Pa. - Penn State Behrend blanked the Pitt-Bradford women’s tennis team 9-0 Tuesday afternoon.

In doubles action, Maya Bingaman and Ashley Stoltz lost 8-0, Ava Young and Rebecca Jordan fell 8-1, and the duo of Aaliya Smith and Katelyn Wells dropped an 8-2 decision. In singles results, Bingaman lost 6-2, 6-3, Jordan fell 6-0, 6-1 and Amy Thomas was defeated 6-0, 6-0. Both Stoltz and Young lost their matches 6-1, 6-1, and Kayla Kerner fell 7-5, 7-5.

Pitt-Bradford falls to 1-6 on the season and 1-5 in the conference. The Panthers host Penn State Altoona Sunday.​
