St. Bibiana Fish Fry

Coudersport Rabies Clinic – April 7, 2018. A Rabies Clinic will be held Saturday, April 7th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Coudersport Fire Hall. All dogs, cats, and ferrets that are at least 12 weeks old can be vaccinated against the rabies virus. The first time a dog or cat receives a vaccine, it is good for one year. Each time after that, the vaccination is good for three years. Ferrets must be vaccinated annually. All animals attending the clinic must be on a leash or in a container. Cost is $5.00 per animal. The clinic is sponsored by Dr. Lindsay Schwartzmeyer of the Potter County Veterinary Clinic, LLC.

Robert H. Symans, age 78, of Dunkirk, NY

Robert H. Symans

Robert H. Symans, age 78, of Dunkirk, NY passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2016 at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport, Pa.

He was born on Aug. 16, 1938 in Buffalo, NY to the late Henry Symans and Mildred (Horre) Symans. 

US Navy Veteran
He graduated from Cardinal Mindszenty High School in 1956 and then served in the U.S. Navy for two years after which he was a dedicated employee at Dunkirk Radiator.

Robert was a devoted husband to Theresa (Kulpa) Symans. They were wed on Oct. 18, 1958. They raised their three children in Fredonia, NY. Robert was a loving and caring father.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Steven R. Symans and daughter-in-law, Patty (Ovitt) Symans of Couersport, Pa, his daughter, Sharon Symans O'Brocta and son in law, Richard O'Brocta of Lexington, SC; and his five adoring grandchildren, Katherine Symans, Christopher Symans, Stephanie Symans, Molly O'Brocta and Richard Robert John O'Brocta.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John R. Symans, who passed away in 1987.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Calling hours will be held this evening from 7-9 at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
