Craig Pearce
DuBOIS – All members of the community are invited to a special presentation by 2016 Alumni Fellow and leadership expert Craig Pearce. The event is planned for 12:05 p.m. on Friday, October 28, in Hiller Auditorium at Penn State DuBois. Pearce's presentation focuses on his concepts of Shared Leadership in business.

Pearce is the Ben May Endowed Chair of Management at the University of South Alabama, and maintains an advisory position at MEF University in Istanbul, Turkey. He also works as an international management consultant and keynote speaker, specializing in executive leadership development. He is a Penn State DuBois alumnus and pioneer of shared leadership and scholarship practice.

He is the founding Director of the Deloitte Leadership Institute at Ozyegin University in Istanbul, Turkey. He was formerly the Dean of the School of Business and Entrepreneurship at the American University of Nigeria and was the Donald Clifton Chair in Leadership and the Director of the Institute for Innovative Leadership at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Previously, he worked with Peter Drucker at the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito School of Management.

Pearce received his B.S. with honors and distinction in Management and a minor in Psychology (1987) from Penn State, his MBA in Management (1988) from The University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Ph.D. in Management and Organization (1997) from The University of Maryland-College Park.

On October 26, Pearce will be honored as one of 24 Alumni Fellows for 2016 during a ceremony at University Park. The award of the lifelong title of Alumni Fellow is the highest award giving by the Penn State Alumni Association. Alumni are nominated by a college or campus as leaders in their professional fields and accept an invitation from the president of the University to return to campus to share their expertise with students, faculty and administrators. Each Alumni Fellow will receive a commemorative award, designed and hand cast by 1972 Penn State graduate Jeanne Stevens-Sollman, an acclaimed sculptor and medalist, and a 2007 Alumni Fellow.

Additionally, Pearce is a 2014 recipient of the Penn State DuBois Outstanding Alumni Award.
