Coudersport Borough is flushing the hydrant system this week

Coudersport Borough is flushing the hydrant system this week. We are doing this during the day between 7 am and 3 pm.

Today's flushing schedule is Rubbertown then North Main Street to Third Street and then East Seventh Street and Woodlawn.

This procedure is necessary but may cause discoloration of the water, so please check before using. If your water is discolored let the cold water run until it clears up.

Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience this flushing may cause.

So you don't think that we are still in a situation where we still need to watch our water??

That's what I though sit back and watch thousands of gallons of water go down the shiter. But wait they'll have a come back answer!!!! Look at the river, springs are dryed up and not running, wells are down, we are in a lack of water....

I don't know the reason why hydrants are flushed but there must be a safety factor, such as pressure for the use of hydrants in case of fire. Like I said, I don't know, but maybe it is a necessary procedure to protect life and structures, which would be necessary. If someone who knows the reason, please let us know, it helps public relations, when we have this knowledge.
Thank you
