Potter County Township Officials’ 87th Convention slated for Saturday October 22, 2016

Officials representing townships of the second class in Potter County will convene on October 22nd at the Coudersport Golf Club for their 87th Annual County Convention. Beginning with breakfast and a vendor/member mixer at 7:30 a.m. and the meeting commencing at 8:30 a.m.

The purpose of the annual convention is to provide municipal officials with up-to-date information to help them better serve their constituents and give them an opportunity to exchange ideas on local government issues.
That being said, the convention is open to the Potter County borough officials as well.

The convention will feature a wide range of speakers including Holly Fishel, the Policy and Research Manager from PSATS. She will talk about the legislation affecting townships of the second class as well as discussing the Organizational Meeting requirements and conflicts of interest for municipal officials.

Other speakers who will address the municipal officials include:

• Alex Veto, Potter County Conservation District

• Potter County District Attorney, Andy Watson

• Eric Arnieson, PA Office of Open Records

• Will Hunt, Potter County GIS/Planning Director

• Sean Van Fleet, Dept. of Environmental Protection, to discuss brine spreading

• Potter County Commissioners

Its a Township Officials convention. Run for office instead of snide remarks, they are always looking for officials. It would be nice to have someone who knows it all to be a supervisor.
