Reminders for this week, weekend and beyond

TRAP SHOOT IS THIS THURSDAY
A trap shoot practice will be at the Nessmuk Rod and Gun Club's outdoor range at 4646 Route 287, 3 miles south of Wellsboro on Thursday, Oct. 6 from 3-6 p.m., weather permitting. The fee per round of 25 clays is $5. FMI: 570-439-0187. Other practices will be from 3-6 p.m. on Thursdays, Oct. 13, 20 and 27.

FIRST FRIDAY IS THIS FRIDAY
Wellsboro’s First Friday will be from 5-8 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 7, rain or shine. GMEINER EXHIBITS TO OPEN THIS FRIDAY
Two exhibits will open this Friday, Oct. 7, at the Gmeiner Art and Cultural Center, 134 Main Street in Wellsboro. From 5-8 p.m. will be the opening reception for the Wellsboro Art Club Show & Sale featuring a variety of original artwork in the Main Gallery and in the Atrium Gallery for the Art Exploration Exhibit with art projects by youth ages 13 and up who are taking the first class offered by Artist-In-Residence Martha Campbell. The exhibits will also be open Oct. 8-30, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and 2-5 p.m. on Wednesdays through Fridays. Admission is free. FMI: gmeinerartscenter@gmail.com.

MOUNTAIN MODELAIRES FLOAT FLY IS THIS SATURDAY
This Saturday, Oct. 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Mountain Modelaires, a radio control airplane club, will host a free float fly at Hills Creek State Park near Wellsboro, weather permitting. Radio control aircraft will take off, fly for up to 10 minutes and land on Hills Creek Lake. Spectators are welcome. FMI: www.mountainmodelaires.org.

SADIE GREEN SALES CONCERT IS THIS SATURDAY
The Sadie Green Sales Jugband with Timothy Walker and David Driskell will perform funny songs and routines from their extensive repertoire this Saturday, Oct. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Gallery at the Warehouse Theatre, 3 Central Avenue, Wellsboro. CONCERT BY H-G CHILDREN AND YOUTH CHOIRS IS THIS SUNDAY
This Sunday, Oct. 9, at 2:30 p.m., the four Hamilton-Gibson Children and Youth Choirs will sing folk, spiritual, pop and classical songs that include people's names, a few sing-alongs and maybe a few rounds of "Name That Tune" with audience contestants during their Autumn Chorale concert at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Wellsboro. RUN PAST CANCER 5K AND ONE MILE FUN WALK/RUN DEADLINE IS THIS COMING MONDAY
Monday, Oct. 10 is the last day to register online at www.relayforlife.org/5krunpastcancerPA for the Run Past Cancer One Mile Fun Walk/Run and 5K and pay an entry fee of $10 for the Fun Walk/Run and $20 for the 5K and to get an event T-shirt for the 5K. Between now and Oct. 28, register at Wild Asaph Outfitters at 71 Main Street or Oswald Cycle Works at 7 North Main Street in Mansfield. Or register at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Smythe Park in Mansfield. The Fun Walk/ Run will start at 9:30 a.m. and the 5K at 10 a.m. on Oct. 29 in Smythe Park. The entry fee from Oct. 11-Oct. 29 is $15 for the Fun Walk/Run and $25 for the 5K Those who wear Halloween costumes can compete for prizes.
