Smethport Man Jailed After Breaking Into SPCA To Retrieve His Dog

On Thursday 10/6/16 at approximately 0721 hours City of Bradford officers were dispatched to 80 Glenwood Ave at the SPCA for a report of criminal mischief.

Upon arrival officers found that an individual had thrown a brick through the window and had entered the property. While inside the individual located and removed a dog.

It was later learned that Michael Frame of Smethport, PA was stopped for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence by Smethport Police in the late hours of Wednesday 10/5/16. Frame had his dog in the car with him when he was stopped. The car was towed and the dog was temporarily surrendered to the SPCA.

After Frame was taken for a blood draw he was transported to a location in Smethport, PA.

Sometime later Frame then drove from Smethport to the SPCA in Bradford where he broke the window in the door to gain access and retrieve his dog.

Frame was caught on security cameras at the SPCA breaking into the building wearing the same clothing that he had on when he was stopped for DUI.

Frame was charged with Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Mischief, Disorderly Conduct, Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition, Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Funds, and Agricultural Trespassing.

Frame was arraigned in front of Judge Engman and remanded to McKean County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

WOW, one smart dude there!!!!!

I don't blame him, the SPCA would have euthanized that dog in a heart beat. I would never take any animal there.

Ya just gotta admire his determination and love for that dog.

That's a good man with a good heart

I empathize with his wanting his dog, but couldn't family or friends retrieve it? Or adopt it etc

They would also make him spade or nuter his dog before they would return it this is so unfair Love for his animal is so strong

What about the dog?

You can't say he didn't love his dog.

If he truly loved his dog he wouldn't have been drinking and driving with scruffy in the vehicle, remember dog lives matter.

It's all kind of a sad situation, I would consider breaking into a SPCA also for my beloved Pet! But it wouldn't be because I was driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, just because I love my Animal! Hope the poor dog gets home, it's not his fault!

Maybe if he didn't leave his dog running the dog wouldn't have gotten put there in the first place and they don't euthanize unless told to

Never come between a man and his dog!! I think the dog could have gone to this mans family verses the SPCA :(

Breaking into the SPCA to rescue dog priceless nor do I blame him. Drinking and driving not cool hopefully the expense for his new membership into the donut club was worth it..

He used NO COMMON SENSE in this situation ,

Great example of what kinda common sense people have while intoxicated if only he would have stayed home and stoked up. Oh wait that's still illegal in PA because the people against it are miss informed back road drunk inbreeds that enjoy going out of their way to pick a fight to compensate for their little man hoods.

So who "tells" them to euthanize? The owner, the janitor, the self-proclaimed
life or death decision maker? What a disgusting business.
