West Branch Road Bridge Repairs Complete; Detour Lifted near Cherry Springs

Galeton, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has completed repairs on a West Branch Road (Route 2002) bridge in West Branch Township and has re-opened the bridge and lifted the detour that had been in place. The detour made use of Routes 44, 144, 6.

The bridge spans the West Branch of Pine Creek about 2 miles northeast of the village of Cherry Springs. It had been closed in late-August in order to replace its concrete beams. Repairing the bridge extends its useful life and allows PennDOT to remove it from Potter County’s structurally deficient list.

All repair work was done by PennDOT Potter County Maintenance forces. PennDOT thanks area drivers for their patience during this closure.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 770 traffic cameras.
