David L. HERSHOUR, 85, of Lakeland, FL, formerly of Port Allegany and Oxford, PA


David L. HERSHOUR, 85, of Lakeland, FL, formerly of Port Allegany and Oxford, PA, died Saturday, November 19, 2016 in his home. 

Korean War Veteran
Born May 20, 1931, in Nottingham, PA, he was the son of Roy and Lela Swinehart Hershour. 

A Korean War Veteran, he served honorably with the US Army. 

On September 29, 1950, in Nottingham Township, Chester County, PA, he married the former Doris Gayle Baker, who predeceased him in 1995. 

David was a self-employed truck driver for over 50 years. 

Surviving are: fiancĂ©, Mary Ann Major; three children, Susan (Terry) Lepold, Dennis (Laurie) Hershour, and Sandy (Brad) Lucia, all of Nottingham, PA; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Ryan David Lepold; a brother, Harold Christian Hershour; and a sister, Dolly Mae Jenkins.

Friends may call at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, PA on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, with Funeral Services following at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Duane Burdick will officiate. 

Military Rites will be accorded in the funeral home by members of the Potter County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Gibbs Hill Cemetery, Ludlow, PA. 

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
