WELLSBORO—Highland Chocolates and Tony’s Tioga Trolley Tours are offering a sweet treat for Dickens of a Christmas.

On Saturday, Dec. 3, during Wellsboro's Dickens of a Christmas, Tony Yeager will have his trolley parked in front First Citizens Community Bank at 1 Pearl Street in Wellsboro. Beginning at 9:30 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m., the trolley will run consecutive trips from the First Citizens along East Avenue to Highland Chocolates. Trolley rides will be at approximately 45-minute intervals on a first come, first served basis.

At the chocolate factory, passengers will be taken on a guided tour to see how the candy is made. Everyone on the tour will then be directed to the free sampling station where they can try 16 of Highland's handcrafted holiday chocolates.

People who are interested will be able to shop at Highland before boarding the trolley for the trip back to downtown Wellsboro. There will be lots to choose from. Highland offers a wide variety of Christmas figurines in chocolate as well as chocolate lollipops, pretzel bark, and baskets and boxes of candy of all descriptions plus trail mix and nuts.

Highland will also have a booth at Dickens from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. where products will be sold and flyers about the tours will be given out.

The $5 per person fee includes the trolley ride to and from Highland Chocolates, the guided tour of the chocolate factory and the sampling station.

Highland Chocolates is a nonprofit organization that employs local people with disabilities who manufacture a fine line of sweet snacks and gourmet chocolate gifts for all occasions. All proceeds from sales directly benefit these individuals and empower them to succeed.
