Elk County Giving Tuesday Planning Committee Meets Before Event Next Tuesday

The Giving Tuesday planning committee met one final time before the event this coming Tuesday, November 29.

Rebecca Titchner the Recycling/Solid Waste Coordinator from the Elk County Recycling Center is holding a proclamation from the St. Marys mayor pledging support of the event.

This is the second year for Giving Tuesday in Elk County, locally named Giving Tue Elk County. Giving Tuesday is a global movement strategically placed after Black Friday and Cyber Monday as a day to give back to organizations that make a difference in your community. It is a seasonal reminder that proves the holidays can be both about giving and giving back.

There are seven participating organizations this year including C.A.P.S.E.A, Elk County Council on the Arts, Elk County Recycling Center, Elk County Community Foundation, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, the Elk County Humane Society and Headwaters Charitable Trust (Living Greener).

Join these organizations on Giving Tuesday for two giving events. The first event is at the Elk County Community Foundation in St. Marys from 3-5PM where kids can get their photo taken with Santa.

Following Santa's visit, join us at the Elk County Council on the Arts gallery in Ridgway from 5-8PM for an evening of live music.

You can also donate during the day at either location 9AM - 5PM or online at ECCOTA.com/GivingTueElkCounty.
