There has been great response from our congregations providing snacks for children attending GalePride’s after school program. Items requested are drink boxes, paper plates, napkins, Clorox wipes, peanut butter and jelly, fruit and veggies. Now it is possible to make monetary donations to the program at the business office of Galeton Shop ‘n Save.

Germania Luncheon club meets Wednesday, November 9th, at noon at Saint Paul’s Lutheran church.

Sunday, November 12th is military veteran recognition, and Commitment Sunday and Christmas Shoe box return at First Presbyterian church.

Hagar will be the topic of the Women’s Bible study at Saint Paul’s Lutheran church Wednesday, November 16th.

The Sadducees questioned Jesus to trap and discredit him. They questioned him about marriage. Jesus explained in the current world marriage is to express love and to bear children, but after the resurrection all are children of God and his love will support them.

In his message, “Live to God,” Pastor Tom told us Jesus’ theme to answer questions was to live to God today, tomorrow, and forever.

The prophet Haggai got people together for building and maintaining an institution as a place to worship and witness to the surrounding community.

Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians (2 Thessalonians 2: 1-5, 13-17) advised them to dwell on traditions they had been taught, to keep building institutions to glorify God and to use their time well.

To live to God, use time well and have time for ourselves, family, and community. Do good and be a do-gooder, Pastor Tom told us. Do not tire of it because there will be a harvest of blessing in the future.

Maintain God honored institutions. It is a great challenge but a calling!
