Women’s Bible study features Hagar, Wednesday, November 16th, at 3 pm at Saint Paul’s Lutheran church.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, Galeton Food Bank opens Friday, November 18th, at 10 am at Saint Paul’s Lutheran church. The Food Bank is in need of volunteers; following the food distribution, there will be a meeting at 11 am to go over information and answer questions for those interested. Anyone desiring to help may contact Potter County Human Services at 1-800-800-2560.

Musicians Slim and Sallie Bonniger return to provide testimony and song during worship Sunday, November 20th.

After worship that day at First Presbyterian church everyone is invited to decorate the Christmas tree.

In his sermon, “Ok…Now what?” Pastor Roger told us in some countries the loser of an election is incarcerated or killed but in America we move ahead with respect. Victors do not gloat over the loser.

Like Romans chapter 13, our country is respectful of governing authorities.

In Paul’s letter, 1Timothy 2: 1-2, we are to pray for everyone and for all who are in authority, and in Titus 3: 1, we are reminded to respect our government and to lend a helping hand.

Pastor Roger told us the apostle Paul saw government as an instrument in the hand of God, preventing society from splintering into chaos.

In 1 Peter 2: 13-17, we are instructed to be good citizens, respect the authorities, and to exercise freedom by serving God.

We are to love our spiritual family.

Pastor Roger requested we say nothing disparaging about our new President for the first six months, and to pray for his cabinet, House of Representatives, Senate, and the courts every day.

Hear our prayers, God of justice and peace! Amen.
