The Friends of Tioga-Hammond & Cowanesque Lakes are asking the public for some much needed help so they can continue to provide many educational and recreational events that are held at the lakes. According to the group these events are provided throughout the year and they have thousands of people like you that attend and enjoy those events.
Many people do not realize really how small this organization is and for them to continue to offer such fun and educational events for the whole family, they absolutely will need your help.
Recently the group has been forced to decide that unless they get more individuals interested in volunteering, planning, and attending their monthly meetings, they will to have to disband as an organization.
Presently the group is responsible for organizing events like the fireworks above Hammond Lake, the Easter Egg hunt held at Lambs Creek, movies at the campgrounds, various speakers and demonstrators, the fall party held at Ives Run, and many other events.
Friends of Tioga-Hammond & Cowanesque Lakes has shared this message only as a last resort in hopes that people will understand that there is a great opportunity for individuals to volunteer with the group and help out with some of these unique events. If the organization does not acquire some more interest and volunteers by Thanksgiving, the group expects that they will have to end the organization by year's end.
If you would like to get involved, please contact the organization within the following week, either by visiting their facebook https://www.facebook.com/friendsofthclakes/?fref=ts and leaving a message or emailing one of our board members at: email@example.com. Friends of Tioga-Hammond & Cowanesque Lakes truly hopes you will step up to help.
